    Member Benefits

    Government Relations/Advocacy

    ACEC-SK’s Board, sector committees, and association staff liaise directly with:

    • various orders of government, including with provincial government Ministers and senior officials,
    • private sector corporations, and
    • muncipalities and/or representative organizations to advance industry issues.  The association works to influence public and corporate policy on behalf of association members.
    Economic Development

    Together Saskatchewan consulting engineering firms contribute directly or indirectly some $2 Billion annually to Saskatchewan’s economy.  Consulting engineering firms are major players in supporting provincial economic growth. 

    ACEC-SK membership affords consulting engineering firms the opportunity to be part of conversations that contribute to the province’s economic landscape.

    Networking

    Meet and foster crucial business contacts.  ACEC-SK organizes a number of events each year, allowing members to network and build working relationships with clients from the public and private sector. It also organizes internal events to enhance opportunities for members to interact with their peers.

    Business Development

    Stakeholder/client meetings organized through ACEC-SK provide excellent opportunities and enhance business development with key clients.  They also inform member firms about upcoming projects and capital plans. The association supports committee interaction with policy makers to affect changes to procurement practices and contract language.

    Image/Profile

    A critical member benefit is to raise the profile of member firms and the industry as a whole, not only to decision-makers and industry, but also to the general public.

    Member Communications

    The newsletter, ACEC-SK’s Advisor, provides updates about current ACEC-SK initiatives undertaken on the members’ behalf.  ACEC-SK also uses a number of other tools, including social media platforms, to keep members up-to-date:

    Human Resources

    ACEC-SK undertakes many initiatives to increase available talent for our members,. including attending career fairs at post-secondary and technical institutions, offering student information nights, participating in government initiatives to direct foreign-trained professionals to our province, as well as raising awareness in other jurisdictions in Canada of opportunities in Saskatchewan.  

    Professional Development

    ACEC-SK organizes continuing education seminars and workshops designed to keep members abreast of the latest technology, business, legal and regulatory issues.

    Liaison with business associations

    ACEC-SK has developed strong relationships with many SK business associations with whom we share common interests.  These ties strengthen our own industry’s voice.

    Collaboration in the form of working with like-minded organizations for the betterment of our industry is another strategy to benefit our members.

    Sector and Member Committees

    Serve on a committee!  There is nothing like joining with others passionate about a particular issue and working together to advance this issue.  When you get involved you gain a full appreciation of the full scope of benefits members enjoy.  It’s also a great way to influence what benefits might evolve.
